story intro
Joker is the head of Durak, the combined finance and disciplined committee that is in control of the school. He lives for fun and likes to share that fun with the other students through special events and other activities. As such, he is enormously popular and most of the students support him, versus the weak student council that has no authority to do anything.
Early in the common route, Joker becomes interested in Yuki's good luck and begins challenging him to matches in an attempt to prove it's all talk. When Yuki's luck proves to be the real deal, Joker chooses Yuki as his new favorite pawn in the game he's made out of school life. But Yuki is upset by all the special treatment, gifts, and favoritism, and pushes away...
personality
Joker is an asshole. There's really no other way to put it. He doesn't care about other people or their feelings; instead, what matters to him is how much enjoyment he can extract from a situation. Everything is about his own entertainment and pleasure. He's extremely charismatic and knows how to get people on his side, which is why he's so successful as a leader among the students.
That said, he's more of a mischievous character than one who's outright malicious, though he can be quite nasty if he feels that his own unique values are threatened. He's more of a 'kick the anthill to see what happens' sort of person rather than someone who actively seeks out opportunities to hurt others in a significant way. Most of his time is spent playing pranks on unsuspecting derps (especially Chiba and Yuki) or arranging interesting events for the students.
Naturally, this is all overcompensation for a deep depression caused by *spoiler bleep!*
relationships
This section contains spoilers.
Spoilers are hidden in a collapsed text box. Click the link below if you want to expand it.
Sonoda Eiji - friend (?)
Though both Sonoda and Joker would deny that they're best friends, they know each other's secrets and seem to understand each other quite well. Joker loves to antagonize Sonoda, poking at his insecurities, but he really does care about him... in his own way. And Sonoda goes out of his way to make special dishes tailored to Joker's damaged sense of taste, even if he does charge Joker for his work. :3
Chiba Hayato - friend (?)
Chiba idolizes Joker, impressed by his lack of fear. Chiba has pretty much appointed himself as Joker's bodyguard, and doesn't hesitate to threaten anyone who opposes or disrespects his idol. Joker sees Chiba as more of a pet than anything else, cute and interesting like a puppy that's gotten attached to him. Chiba will follow Joker's orders without question, and chooses to interpret his teasing as 'training' instead of a mean-spirited joke.
Okazaki Ken - source of amusement
It wouldn't be accurate to say that Okaken and Joker are friends. Rather, Joker is amused by Okaken's urban legends, ghost stories, and other occult information. Joker doesn't believe in any of those things, but he finds the stories (and Okaken's reactions to them) interesting, so he encourages Okaken to share. Bonus points if Chiba happens to be around to get scared by the spooky bits. :3
character data sheet
The following information is a translation of the character data sheet that was provided on the preorder bonus CD. These character sheets are more like lists of random notes than a detailed character profile, so don't expect this to be terribly coherent. :3
Please be aware that these are early development notes and information may differ slightly from the finished game.
