fanbook q&a

character profile questions

The GH2 fanbook is full of great info - the profiles for all the main characters include a special Q&A section, where all answer the same set of standard questions. (Well, except Sakaki, who only does about half of the list...) These questions, in addition to the ones from the Twitter event, give us a lot of extra information about all the boys! :3

Asahina Yuki

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: I have good luck!

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: I was able to come to BL School and meet everyone!

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: I was able to become the Ace! I was able to meet everyone!

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: I can't think of anything.

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: At first, all I could have was plain udon.... Now that I can choose anything, I'm always unable to decide and I end up asking for too much. I want to eat the special dish every day, but it's expensive....

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: I want to go off-campus. Well, I want to do lots of fun things!

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: As the Ace, I hope I can improve the school even more. Oh, and I want to conquer all the dishes in the cafeteria and school store!!

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: I just got in, so I haven't thought of anything. I hope I discover it while spending time with everyone.

Sagimori Kuya

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: My skill is fencing, and learning foreign languages!

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: I made lots of friends. And I think it's good to have a way to defend yourself. Depending on how swords and words are used, they can be fearsome weapons that hurt others, but I know that being weak without those weapons invites an unhappy outcome. Living in various places, I've learned that it's absolutely necessary to have a certain amount of mental and physical strength to have relationships with many people.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: Everything!

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: Nothing!

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: Before, it was nothing but plain udon. But since I can finally eat lots of things, now I eat a different thing each day. But Sonoda-kun is amazing with his extensive repertoire!

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: Umm, various ways depending on the day. At the aquarium, I imagine "how would this fish taste if we ate it?", at the dinosaur exhibit, I talk about "what kind of life would we have if we lived in primordial times", at the show homes village, I imagine "what if the two of us lived in a house like this?", or we hike up the mountain and get moved by Mother Nature. Stuff like that! No matter where or what we do, it's fun if I'm with Yuki. I'm sure Yuki thinks it's fun being with me too. It may be conceited of me, but it looks to me like Yuki's smile shines the most when he's with me.

Q: Who are you friends with?
A: Masatsugu and Ninosuke, especially. But I like Aratan too, and I respect Chiba-sempai, and I think Joker is interesting. I really like everyone at this school!

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: I'm sure Masatsugu will give you a detailed explanation so I'll leave it to him. But, from the time of the entrance ceremony, Masatsugu was always alone and looking bored, and didn't try to make friends, so I thought I'd absolutely become his friend. What we talked about is a secret just between us. With Ninosuke? The very first day I came to the school, he jumped from 3rd floor of the dorm and very nearly kicked me in the face. If I had been anyone else, I would have died!

Q: What do you think of Yuki?
A: I think he's someone irreplaceable in my life.[note!]This answer was issued as a correction from Cool-B, but the fanbook has Arata's answer printed here instead: Sometimes he says really embarrassing things. I'm at a loss when he says those things spontaneously, but recently he's started setting his sights on me and he's getting more and more incorrigible...

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: What I want to do, huh. There's lots of things.... First, I'm going to put out a photo book for the "Nyan Fund", a fund I started for the school cats! Lots of my friends in the EU like calico cats and Wakasama is especially popular. When I asked Masatsugu for advice, he said "why don't you sell a photo book?" He put the pictures into a nice layout and had it made into a book at a print shop for me. Amazing, isn't he! The proceeds from the photo book will all go into the fund and be used for the cats. By the way, Dr. Matsuoka will help manage the funds for me. That way, I don't have to worry, even when I graduate. Also, with the help of the student council, I'm creating materials to tell the underclassmen about the Bell One Grand Prix.

Takato Masatsugu

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: I'm told it's calligraphy.

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: Thanks to copying calligraphy from various books, I can easily read the characters on scrolls and in Edo-period picture books. Deciphering ancient literature is extraordinarily useful.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: I gained an opportunity to get away from home and find myself. Also, that I gained valuable friends is also thanks to this school's traditions.

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: There are too many opportunities for my privacy to be violated. I prefer my relationships to be deep. Even when I want to be alone, I can sense the presence of other people and it's somewhat galling.

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: Until now, it has always been plain udon, but recently, it's the A set.

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: I want us to be alone together as much as possible, so we often go out somewhere. He's a very popular person, so if we are on campus, someone will interrupt with something. We often go on short excursions, just day trips or overnight stays. Since Asahina really likes delicious things, we go eat the finest soba in the mountains, or popular local foods. Many times, we go stay at inns with a reputation for delicious food. Also, sometimes he accompanies me to a book store. I could just buy books online, but after all, I want to go to the storefront and look at the books. By the way, don't you think buying a book about your interests while your lover watches would make incredible shame play? Of course, we wouldn't really buy erotic books, but you might call it a fetish reveal, or something.

Q: Who are you friends with?
A: Kuya and Ninosuke.

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: It was soon after coming to school. I was having my dinner alone and it started with Kuya calling to me, asking "Can I sit next to you?" From the very moment he came to school, he was someone who stood out extremely, and honestly, when he talked to me I felt annoyance. But refusing would have been immature, so I assented and for some reason, he began to talk with an incredible enthusiasm. At first, I ignored him, but his talk was very interesting, and before I knew it I had completely opened up to him. --That experience was a first. Kuya was... different than any other person I knew. Was he a child or an adult, intelligent or stupid? I couldn't get the measure of him and to be honest, I felt I didn't like him. Or rather, I felt only the disgust that comes from fear. I wanted to run away, however, my pride would not let me. We've gone through various things since then, and our relationship has become such that now I would call him a best friend. The world works in mysterious ways.

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: I think I want to scan through whole card catalog at the library, take in what kind of books there are, and read the books I have some interest in, even if it's just a flick through.

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: To start, I want to try living alone.

Jokawa Kiyotada

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: Shooting. In long-range rifle shooting, I can do over 1km easy. I like games too, but it's more a hobby.

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: There's nothing in particular. Originally, I just did it as an extension of hunting with a gun.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: There's a lot more ways to stave off boredom than at a normal school.

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: If you mean an annoying guy, I already have one around.

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: I don't care as long as it's something with a flavor I can eat.

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: Since I like seeing Yuki-kun's various expressions, we go out to different places every time. I guess it's usually a place that's as surprising as possible.

Q: Who are you friends with?
A: I'm with Hayato and Eiji relatively often.

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: It's because we're in the same year and in Durak, isn't it? Though I think that Hayato would stick with me like now even if Durak didn't exist. How did Hayato get attached to me? Try asking him.

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: It would be interesting to do an event with a sense of danger, even bigger than the uproar before. Having the school be peaceful is boring. I think regular life needs more of a thrill.

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: I can't think of anything. It doesn't matter as long as it's fun.

Sonoda Eiji

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: I have a genius sense of taste and cooking skill and can recreate food I've tasted once.

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: I can make money. That sums up the greatest benefit, but being able to see the faces of people calling my food delicious is also a point in favor.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: I can show off my cooking skill to my heart's content.

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: There's a lot of guys so weird that you can't express it as just personal character.

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: The meals I made myself. Usually, I'm also taste-testing a new dish though. Sometimes, having a meal the lunch ladies made is not bad.

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: For a long time, I went around sampling dishes made by other cooks as research for new recipes, but now that I'm with the ultimate gourmet reporter, it's worth selecting a restaurant.

Q: Who are you friends with?
A: Setting aside whether we're friends or not, I spend the longest time with Kiyo and Hayato. the lunch ladies I see everyday in the cafeteria. All they do is make me listen to their gripes about home, though. Also, there's Professor Sakaki, who I'm inescapably fettered to. He listens to my griping too.

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: Because of Durak, and we're in the same class.

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: I guess I want to earn enough money to open a restaurant and polish my cooking skill even more.

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: I hope I can open a restaurant soon after, but to start, I think I'll learn management, study abroad to network and polish my skills, and get more training. First, I have to get my French cooking to a level my dad will approve of.

Chiba Hayato

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: It's kendo.

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: I became strong.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: I was able to meet Joker-sama.

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: The teachers pester me when I cut class.

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: Whatever Sonoda recommends that day. And katsudon.

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: Saturday is the day I often have practice matches and tournaments. Those times, Asahina comes to watch. Afterwards, I go out to eat with Asahina and the guys in the kendo club, or go hang out. ...When I don't have club, just the two of us go out too. Recently we went to the pool. Next time, we promised to go to the ocean. Also, I go to Asahina's room. And Asahina comes to my room. ...Well, something like that.

Q: Who are you friends with?
A: I'm often with Joker-sama. Also, the guys in the kendo club.

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: I lost a match to Joker and he made me his subordinate. As for the club guys, naturally it's because we're in the club together.

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: Get 2 straight wins in the inter-high. Since there are a number of kendo competitions I haven't won yet, I want to claim victory in those too. Anyway, I want lots of wins.

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: I want to polish my skill at kendo and win the All Japan Kendo Championship, becoming the best swordsman in Japan. After that, I want to participate in the World Kendo Championship and become the best swordsman in the world.[note!]These are real-life competitions.

A: Diving. And I guess I can summon animals.

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: I can see the school cats whenever I want.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: That Maro can stay with me. It's ok even if have him in my track jacket the whole time.

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: Not really, I guess. Oh, the color of the uniform jacket is too gaudy, so I kind of don't like it.

A: Tofu and yogurt.

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: I do voluntary practice for club. Or I go out shopping for Maro's food and stuff.

Q: Who are you friends with?
A: Reo-Reo. He's quick to anger, but he's kind at heart.

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: I started talking to him when he was in the hospital. I was curious about the person whose life completely changed suddenly one day.

Q: What do you think of Yuki?
A: Sometimes he says really embarrassing things. I'm at a loss when he says those things spontaneously, but recently he's started setting his sights on me and he's getting more and more incorrigible....

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: Since I worried about the cats, I guessed I would ask for help from a teacher I could rely on. I thought that, but it seems O-Sagi-san already has various ideas. I wonder if I can help somehow too.

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: I haven't thought about it yet, but if I continue diving, I guess I have to aim for the Olympics. Since diving is a minor sport, I've recently started to think that I want others to learn more about how fun it is.

Kasahara Tomo

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: It's pretty much supposed to be track. Since the computer stuff wasn't really recognized by the school, I don't want to call it my special skill.

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: It was sort of the reason I came to the school.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: I met people important to me and I was able to move forward.

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: There's too many guys who aren't normal. Can't they spend time doing less stuff?

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: It's annoying to think about, so the daily A set is my only option.

Q: How do you spend your days off?
A: Sleeping. I want to spend them doing nothing, but usually Yuki drags me out.

Q: Who are you friends with?
A: Not really anyone apart from Yuki. Okaken? Oh, him, well... he just talks to me on his own.

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: It was because Professor Sakaki told me to look after him. If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have remembered the past, so maybe I should thank Professor Sakaki.

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: I want to do well enough to not embarrass myself in front of Brother.

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: I haven't thought of anything yet, but I want to do what I can to make Brother's aims a reality.

Yagami Reon

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: Violin and guitar.

Q: What made you feel glad to have that special skill?
A: There's good and bad. It was already natural by the time I was old enough to understand, so it's nothing special.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
A: I can do what I want, as much as I want.

Q: In contrast, is there anything that made you annoyed about it?
A: The way credits are calculated.

Q: What dish do you always eat at the cafeteria?
A: Meat. Next year, I'll definitely get the all-you-can-eat grilled meat on the menu.

A: I seem to be able to escape Arata less and less and I can't stand it. Don't treat us as a set.

Q: How did you become friends with that person?
A: He has that ridiculous way of calling me Reo-Reo, but when I yell at him, suddenly people say we're "good friends" and it's annoying.

Q: What do you want to do until you graduate BL School?
A: Nothing especially, If I had to say, the yakiniku set... wait, this is nothing but food. I guess it's his bad influence....

Q: What do you want to do after you graduate BL School?
A: Play violin probably.

Sakaki Sojiro

Q: Please tell us your special skill.
A: Throwing chalk became my special skill because of guys who don't take class seriously. Making tests where it's hard to get 100 points is more of a hobby than a special skill.

A: After getting hit, the students take class seriously.

Q: What made you glad you came to BL School?
